Savor Craft Beer and Food Festival 2009
Were you at SAVOR last May? We certainly were. Well, not much has been announced yet, but SAVOR is back in 2009. It will be on May 30, 2009 and will again be located in Washington, DC. If you’re looking for a refresher of why it was so amazing, watch this video to better understand why we’re looking forward to the next one:
Savor - An American Craft Beer & Food Experience from Flying Dog Brewery on Vimeo.

SAVOR was a lot of fun! The food was good (esp the chocolate), even if the hot stuff ran out too soon. But there were several things I’d change:
The tasting diary was a great gift, but would have been more appropriate at the start of the evening than at the end. Alternatively, add blank lines to the program for people to jot notes.
No one had a decent chance of getting to any of the talks. An overflow room or cctv feed would encourage participants to do more than drink.
The set up left you trapped in pools and eddies of people who refused to move from in front of the breweries’ tables! Volunteers or staff could help the flow by encouraging people to move out to the central tables.
Oh, and more tables!
A confluence of music, beer, and food will collide at Blue Palms Saturday, May 16th. As a warmup to the Firkins 9:00 PM performance, the Los Angeles Chapter of the Prime Rib Association will have a unique beer dinner inspired by Blue Palms Proprietor Brian Lenzo and Firestone Walker Brewer Matt Brynildson.
- 16 oz USDA “Prime Grade” Prime Rib marinated in your choice of Firestone Walker 11th or 12th Anniversary Ale. Baked potato, au jus, fresh horseradish, and dessert.
- Half - Pint of Firestone Walker Double Double Barrel Ale
- Firestone Walker 10-11-12 vertical tasting (4oz of each)
- Limited to 30 guests
- Cost $50 per person
